What Type of Insurance Coverage for the Amazon Vendor?

If you are involved in e-commerce by selling online, you might realize that you face similar risks as other business. Those involved in the Amazon marketplace are required by the company to obtain a certain amount of business coverage up to $1,000 per occurrence:

• Commercial general liability insurance

• Bodily injury insurance

• Personal injury insurance

• Property insurance

Amazon vendors need to realize that this is limited coverage that will not protect them if losses necessitate a larger claim. Like any business person, those involved in e-commerce need to assess their needs and acquire appropriate related insurance protection.

General Liability

General liability insurance is a basic coverage for the online seller – as it is traditional brick and mortar retail outlets. It is there to protect your business from liability to:

– Injuries

– Negligence

– Accidents

If a related lawsuit occurs, this insurance can pay for payment you are judged to pay and legal expenses.

Products liability coverage generally is tied to this policy. It protects the manufacturer or seller in regard to bodily injury or property damage to a third party that occurs because of a faulty product.

There are instances, however, when this form of coverage does not help. Why? In the event a seller is not rated appropriately and files a claim, he or she may get a ‘no’ from the insurer.

Take the case of Mary – an Amazon vendor that successfully sold skin care products to an online market.

All was fine, business-wise, for Mary until the fateful day when a consumer sued her in relation to a serious skin flare-up credited to the creams sent to her by Mary. When Mary filed a claim, she was in for a shock: the insurance company denied coverage because her policy was wrongly rated as an internet retailer. As someone that placed her company labels on her creams, she should have been rated ‘a manufacturer’!

Too bad her agent did not catch the mistake! The financial consequences had a far-reaching effect, eventually forcing her to file for bankruptcy.

While this spells out the urgency of being on the lookout for problems with a policy, there are other forms of coverage that an Amazon seller needs to be highly cognizant of.

Other Policies for the Amazon Seller

One of the chief concerns any Amazon seller has is the possibility of being suspended from the Amazon network of sellers. If this occurs, the loss of income can be substantial. Amazon Suspension Insurance Policy is the number one coverage that is recommended for the industry across the board.

Other insurance policies to consider are:

• Business Auto

• Workers Comp

• Umbrella/Excess

• Cyber Liability

• Ocean Marine

• EPLI

Of course, nothing takes the place of speaking to an insurance professional that will steer you to a tailored insurance program made for you.

Automotive Service Facility Secrets That Will Save You Money

I want to talk a little about automotive diagnostic costs and how they get passed on to the average consumer along with the reasons behind this. The inner workings of Automotive service centers are very similar in some aspects and very different in others. Some service centers really try to give the best customer service available while others will charge you for every bit of time that they can scrape up and not even look back.

  • Not all Automotive diagnostic strategies are equal.

The truth about diagnostics is that technicians will not always treat them the same way. There are always different points of view and unfortunately just because you recover a certain fault code, the part it points to may not in fact be the failed part. The technician will use his own experiences to diagnose the problem and not necessarily the "text- book" method depending upon the skill set of the tech.

  • Technicians need to feed their families.

The technician, like anyone else, needs to feed his family and in the automated service profession the techs are paid by the book hour. This means that they receive a small amount of time to diagnose the problem and the standard "book" time to replace the part. This is where things tend to go wrong as the technician is forced to "beat the clock" to diagnose and repair your vehicle.

  • Parts Swapping

When the technician is faced with a fault that is unusual and has to spend a fair amount of time on it, this is where you start to pay. It is not that the technician is untrained or inexperienced, but rather that he or she may have to ask for extra time or start swapping parts which you may end up paying for.

  • Paying for more than you needed

Nobody usually minds paying a little extra if the technician has run into a problem and needs more time, but it is when the fifth part that was replaced has fixed the problem and you are faced paying for the other 4 possibly unnecessary parts. This happens because the technician must fix the vehicle as promptly as possible to get paid and move on to the next job.

  • Be smart about your repairs

When you bring your vehicle in for diagnostic work such as a check engine light, air conditioning, abs light, air bag light, etc. always and I repeat "ALWAYS" tell the service center to call you after they have put an hours worth of time in and convey to you where they are at the vehicle at that time. At that point you can make a determination where the technician is at diagnosing your vehicle and you can then decide how much more time you are willing to let him spend on it. Do not be afraid to push the service advisor into telling you whether he is close or not.

  • Paying for parts you did NOT need

There are many instances where the technician will put 2, 3, or 4 parts on the vehicle and say that they were all contributors of the problem and it seemed to get a little better as each one was replaced. From my experience this is possible only when the vehicle is just so old and neglected or there was consequential damage as something took out a multitude of parts and it usually was not any of the parts but some other undering problem. Again you should instruct the service advisor to call you as soon as they suspect a part and want to replace it and if it is not the problem you will be charged for that part.

  • Generally dealerships will treat you better

Automotive service dealerships usually will be more expensive, but are large enough to usually work with you on possibly splitting the time of the diagnosis. If it was an extensive diagnosis they may consider "eating" some of the time and NOT charge you for any parts that did not fix the vehicle. There are many independent service shops that will grant this negotiation to you, but in my experience there were not as many.

Everyone needs to get their vehicle serviced at some point or another and being aware of the situation will greatly help you in the long run. If you experience a situation that you are not so sure of and need a little advice, be sure to drop us a line at the company website.

Auto Repair and Maintenance

For most of us, a car is an investment. It is our way to work, and it is our way to run errands. In some parts of the country, life without a car can be pretty difficult. If you have a vehicle it will be your most expensive purchase. Auto repair, maintenance, registration, and, in some states, annual inspections come to mind. We all want to be safe and we all want our cars to last a long time. So, what does maintaining your car actually look like? It's not nearly as complicated as you might fear.

The most basic maintenance is an oil change. If you are a do it yourself project this is a pretty basic job. If you do not want to grease on your hands it is thankfully pretty inexpensive, but it is important nonetheless. This should be done every 3,000 miles. If you take it to someone they will check spark plugs, air filters, and fluid levels. It might be a good idea to more frequent oil changes or check the oil level more often if you notice leaks, drive in a lot of stop and go traffic, or tow a trailer.

The suspension of your car needs attention. You will want to have your vehicle's struts, or shocks checked. When you take your car in to have your tires rotated the mechanic will check these things and make sure your car is properly aligned. Also, if you state requires a yearly inspection you will be required to have this checked out. This helps your car handle better. Sometimes a problem can be as simple as low tire pressure. Once you get a little air you may find your vehicle is good as new. When problems with the suspension occur they can be dangerous. Auto repair often just means regular maintenance.

Keeping up with transmission fluids can help your car shift smoother. Replacing a transmission is far more expensive than maintaining your vehicle's fluids. Brake fluids are important to maintain as well as brake pads. You can reduce a lot of costly repairs by keeping an eye on these fluids.

Auto repair is about safety and protecting your investment. It is important to find a mechanic who will help you keep up on your car's repairs. Someone who can do quality work when your car lets you down as well as helping with maintenance so it does not let you down often.

Cars at the USA Salvage Car Auctions

A small number of Americans will take up cars in Germany; though, for the American who at the moment lives in Germany, plans to live in Germany, or is extensively visiting Germany, the chance of purchasing a car in Germany rises. Germany can be proud of by its lengthy history of better-quality automobile built-up and its auto marketplace is as fundamental for its financial system as the car market is to the economy of the USA. Vehicles for sale in Germany are as abundant as they are in the United States. The production involves Germany’s local brands such as BMW and Volkswagen as well as American and other brands. Additionally, the market includes new, used, and even salvage cars in Germany.

For the great majority of Americans, the purchase of salvage cars can be realized through the well-known online auctions or other online auto sales. Several of these Americans will habitually comprise military personnel and their associates, contractors of the government and other personnel. When a person is looking for a used vehicle, he can as a buyer could refer to the List which can be successfully found in automobile magazines, from car dealers, or even in the Internet which gives a price list and provide a guide for buyers to take up used vehicles. The process of purchasing a vehicle in Germany is similar and much like taking up one in the United States. Financing is real; trade-ins are usual, and warranties can be provided. Once the purchase is completed, the car buyer will require evidence of insurance as well as proof of security inspection, registration, and rights for this vehicle. The purchaser will need to take these papers to the motor vehicle department in the German locale where the car will be driven. After paying the appropriate fees, he will be able to obtain the license plates for authorization of driving the car on Germany’s roads.

You will surely agree with the fact that nearly everyone will necessitate a mode of moving for work, school or just running errands. Most of these persons cannot afford such spending at all due to the tight budget and can’t buy a new, or even a good used vehicle. One of the alternatives is to visit diverse salvage car auctions; either live auctions or they could be found online. In the Internet you can place your bids on a damaged vehicle, and keep up thousands of dollars, versus buying a new or a used car in good form. A salvaged auction vehicle is a car that has either been in an accident, or has some kind of engine trouble, and was sold for cash, instead of repairing. Vehicles that are purchased at a salvage auction yard will most likely necessitate some sort of repairs, either to the engine, or the body.

This is why it’s vital that the buyer should be aware of the damages, and be able to fix up the problems. The cause the vehicles are in salvage car auctions is because the cost of repair regularly overcomes the vehicle’s cost. Very often it is the insurance company or the owner who decides to total the vehicle. Other reason for purchasing a car at a salvage yard is to restore a vehicle as a pastime. One is able to find many restorable project cars at an auto salvage auction. Also parts for vehicles are also available here at auctions. So if you are looking for a good deal car to fix for a cheap type of transportation or a restorable vehicle for a leisure pursuit, salvage car auctions might be your best preference.
